1. Read the following passage and answer the questions given below:

It is difficult to imagine this world of ours which is so full today of all kinds of animals and men, to be without them. But scientists and those who have studied and thought a great a deal about these matters tell us that there was a time when the earth was too hot for any living being to live on it.

8. Write the summary of the given passage:

The constable came. He took me by the hand and pushed me out. My luggage was also taken out. I refused to go to the other compartment and the train steamed away. I went and sat in the waiting room, keeping my hand-bag with me, leaving the other luggage where it was. The railway authorities had taken charge of it.

Ans: The constable came to push the author out with his luggage. Unwilling to go to the other compartment, he went to the waiting room leaving the luggage at railway authority’s custody.
