1. Contrast the characters of Sir Mohan Lal and his wife in the
story 'Karma'?
Ans:- Mohan Lal and Lachmi are diametrically
opposite to each other. Sir Mohan is a vizier and barrister. He has a degree
from Oxford. He wears Balliol tie, speaks English fluently and reads the times,
a British newspaper. His wife Lachmi is an ordinary house-wife. She is short
and bulky. Mohan Lal hates his coutrymen and their culture. He hates his wife
too. Mohan Lal is proud and arrogant. Lachmi is simple and homely. They journey
in the same train. Mohan Lal goes in the first-class. Lachmi goes in the zenana
inter class. Eventually Mohan Lal is humiliated by two British soldiers. He is
kicked out of the train. The rejection symbolizes that Mohan Lal has been
rootless. He has lost his identity. He is neither Indian nor English. His wife
Lachmi is devoid of all vanity and arrogance. She is happy with her Indian
counterparts.
2. ".... the two
hearts beating each to each!" -
Whose hearts are referred here? How do the two hearts meet?
Ans:- In the
poem 'Meeting at Night' the lover and his Beloved's hearts are refferred here.
The poem 'Meeting at Night' deals with the
anticipation and the fulfilment of the meeting of two loving hearts. The lover
is keep on meeting his beloved. The hurdles of his sea-journey are over. The
lover reaches the cove. Then he starts walking under the faint moonbeam. Three
fields are yet to cross. The air is salty. Silence reigns all over the beach.
He is thrilled and excited. He feels a warm passion inside his heart. At last
he reaches the destination. He stands on the verge of his success. He gives a
mild tap on the window pane to announce his arrival. Suddenly flashes in blue a
match inside the cottage. The flash is followed by a voice subdued. Very soon
arrives the ecstatic moment. And in utter secrecy two loving hearts meet each
other.
3. A computer training

leaflet so as to make the youths of your locality aware about the advantages of
joining such a training centre.

regulations, then they can lead a more peaceful and beautiful life. Discipline
is also necessary for school students. If there is no discipline in school. The
students cannot learn their lessons properly. Students who are the future
citizens of the society, should cultivate discipline well for a better
life ahead of them. Discipline can bring success to the students. It they can
lead a well planned disciplined life then no obstacles can come forth from
getting success. This is the crying and imperative need of the day because the
future to the society largely on them.
